Gregory Ayuen GREGORY AYUEN, November, 1988. Born in Trinidad, is pretty much Bajan
by heart, having moved to Barbados at age 11. Ayuen, as he prefers to be called,
first started his singing career in the Richard Stoute Teen Talent competition
in 2003, in which he placed second. He then accepted the challenge to compete in
the Caribbean recognized Digicel Rising Star Competition in 2006, where out of
seven Caribbean islands and over twenty-five contestants, he was voted amongst
the top five contestants. After great success in the competition arena, he
decided it was time to pursue a different genre; bigger and better waters…The
Soca Waters.
With 2007 being Ayuen’s first year in the soca arena, he has already released
three tracks, the first entitled "Tonight" performed
by Ayuen himself and accompanied by Barbados’ beautiful Hit Island recording
artiste "Ayana John"; the second entitled "Shake It"
and the third entitled "We Ready Now" both performed
solo. All songs were written by Ayuen and produced by popular soca producer
"Peter Coppin" @ Monstapiece Studios.
Gregory has also performed with Barbadian Hip Hop Band "Strategy the Band" for a
few months at many night clubs here and abroad. He was also a popular face at
many school pageants and also the Digicel
advertisement on CBC TV8. However, Ayuen is not just focused on any one particular genre of music. He is a seasonal artiste who has versatility and ambition. Ayuen is musically influenced by soca star Machel Montano HD; King of Pop Michael Jackson & Celine Dion. As a young artiste, Ayuen is determined to make an impact in the music arena because of his strong love and passion for music and being an entertainer was and still is his every hope and dream.
